Vincent Goslicky, Jr.

Vincent Paul Goslicky, Jr. was born June 15th, 1949 in McKeesport, PA to Joann Lea Ancarana (Sikorski) and Vincent Paul Goslicky, Sr. He passed away at the age of 72 on Sunday, January 30, 2022.

From 1958 - 1964, he attended Toner Institute, a Catholic military school. He then went on to graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1968 before joining the Navy from 1970 - 1974.

While in the Navy, he was a proud Seabee, where he learned to operate heavy equipment, a skill he would utilize for the rest of his life. Vince never met a machine he couldn’t operate with dexterity.

He was a stepson to Joseph Sikorski.

He was a nephew to Uncle Lloyd Goslicky.

He was a big brother to Wade B. Goslicky, half-brother to Paul Joseph Sikorski, and brother-in-law to Vivian L. Goslicky. He was also a "big brother” to the many other people in his life that he knew by providing help, love, and encouragement however he could.

He was Uncle Vinny to his niece, Jill Marie Goslicky and her husband, Aaron Thomas Krebs, nephew, Michael Wade Goslicky and his wife, Terria Dotson Goslicky, grand-nephews, Gavin Wade Goslicky and Grayson Walter Goslicky, and grand-nieces, Jolynn Marie Goslicky and Idella Dava Krebs.

He spent much of his life with his long-time girlfriend, Barbara Hetrick. He was like a father to her children, Pamela, Amanda, Joshua, and Gregory, and Pappy Vince to her grandchildren, Lillian, Lexis, Lyvia, Cash, Myah, Wesley, Gunner, and Benjamin Paul.

Vince loved his toys.

Motorcycles, his trike, his truck, and his many, many, many different cars. Often, he could be found trading his latest car in before it was even eligible for an oil change.

His nickname was “Crash,” which tells you that his skill with heavy equipment did not transfer to his talent behind the wheel. He once worked at a car dealership where he wrecked three cars in one day. But he was such a loyal employee, they let it slide.

Vince loved his dogs.

Dakota and Nikita were two beautiful huskies that he raised for many years.

A child at heart, Vince LOVED kids.

He never had kids of his own, yet was a father, grandfather, uncle, and big brother to all the children in his life. A willing caretaker and mentor who was ready with tough love when you needed it. And tenderness when you needed that too. He was also infamous for getting his nieces and nephews wound up before bedtime and then leaving their parents to deal with the aftermath.

Vince was one-of-a-kind.

He was true to himself and marched to the beat of his own drum. He lived his life exactly the way he wanted. No exceptions. It’s rare to find a person who is unapologetically themself, no matter what. But that was Vince to the core. Towering in stature and in character, those who loved him will miss his unwavering loyalty, steadfast patriotism, oversized heart, and playful spirit.

A memorial reception of friends will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 3:30 – 5:30 PM with a celebration of Vince’s Life at 5:30PM at Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home.
