Timothy J.

Timothy J. Bean, age 59, of Lakewood, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on August 9th, 2022.

Tim was born on Hahn USAF Airbase in Germany on January 10, 1963.  He attended grammar school in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  His family then moved to England where he attended RAF Lakenheath High School.  He completed his high school term at Ft. Walton Beach H.S. in Florida, graduating in 1981.  Tim had excelled in football and baseball in H.S., and enjoyed fishing, boating and swimming while growing up in Florida.

In the early 1980’s, Tim worked on offshore drilling rigs in the gulf for Exxon and Hempel as a coating consultant then moved onto working for various industrial steel contractors on projects throughout the U.S and Canada as a NACE Level 3 Coatings Inspector.  While working on projects for the NYCDOT and TBTA in NYC in 2000, Tim met his wife, Lois.  They married and resided in Bay Ridge, Bklyn, NY.  Following a brief work-related stint in Florida, Virginia and Maryland, they returned and settled in Lions Head Woods in Lakewood, NJ.

Tim opened his own coating inspection company, TJB Inspection & Construction Svcs., in 2013.  He, along with his wife, Lois, operated the business which proved to be a success as Tim’s reputation as a coatings expert was known throughout the industry.  He was very proud of this achievement.

Tim had enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of college and pro football such as the Florida Gators and The NY Giants teams.  Tim had recently become a member of The Bricktown Elks Lodge, participating in their activities and playing pool with his buddies.  He will be remembered for his quick smile, sociable and sincere nature, and willingness to help others.

Tim was predeceased by his mother Arline Bean, sister, Shauna Gainey & husband Tim Gainey, and son, Jason Bean.  He is survived by his father, Melvin Bean; wife, Lois Bean; brother, Robert Bean and wife Shelley; grandchildren, Gator and Nollie Bean; sister-in-law, brother-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life to honor Tim will be held at a later date for family and close friends at his home in Lakewood, New Jersey.
