STANLEY JOHN VUKELJA
Stanley Vukelja, age 83 of Charleroi, Pennsylvania formerly of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, January 19, 2023. He was born August 15, 1939, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania one of two children of Nicholas and Emma (Kozak) Vukelja.
He graduated from Duquesne High School in 1957 and served in the US Army during the Peace Time era between the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Stanley worked 23 years for US Steel at the Duquesne Plant and several other companies in the Monongahela Valley area. He loved golf, fishing, cowboy movies and anything to do with Gettysburg history during the Civil War.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 58 ½ years, Marie (Marcic) Vukelja; three children, Stephen Nicholas (Sondra) Vukelja of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, Michael Joseph (Lori) Vukelja of Finleyville, Pennsylvania and Jenneifer Marie (Jason) Jones of Summerville, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Tyler Jones, Jakob Jones, Nicholas Vukelja, Paula Marie Vukelja and Matthew Robert Jones and his sister Marjorie White of West Mifflin.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 5 – 8 pm in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home during the visitation at 7 pm.
