ROBERT “BOB” MEYER
Bob Meyer age 71 of Whitehall Borough in Pittsburgh, PA passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at home. His battle with medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with his crazy sense of humor.
He was born in Pittsburgh on February 6, 1950, one of three children of William Elmer Meyer and Audrey Clare (Hilberer) Meyer. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Debbie Meyer; stepchildren, Ashley (Billy) Clark, Shawn (Natalie) Hannigan; sister, Nancy Kowalski; brother, Jim (Marie) Meyer; along with his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In his early years Bob earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. He decided to change his career path and worked for the Pennsylvania American Water Company for 40+ years.
Bob devoted his life to his cats (Toes, Jake, and Elwood) along with the other kitties who came before them. His devotion led him to becoming a Volunteer member of the BLUE Cat Team at Animal Friends where his role was to help socialize the most challenging cats in the shelter.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 www.stephendslater.com on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. Bob’s burial will be private with family in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania.
