PATRICIA ANN (BAVIN) ELIRAN

Patricia Eliran, age 87 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.  Patricia was born on September 26, 1934, in the Calamity Hollow area of Jefferson Borough (now Jefferson Hills Borough) in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, one of seven children of Charles Richard Bavin and Helen Elisabeth (Stadnicki) Bavin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all six of her siblings, sisters, Rosemary Saire, Helen Knudsen and Charlene Davenport and brothers, Charles R. Bavin II, Arthur Bavin and Leslie Bavin and nephew, Donald A. Bavin.

Patty is survived by cousins, Max Stanton, Leo Stanton and Mary Hilko; nieces, Lori M. Alamano. Lana Badouin, Sharon Bavin Galasso, Karen Bavin DiPalma, Shana Bavin Cowhig, Michelle Bavin, Kim Bavin and Lisa Bavin, and nephew, Daniel Milburn; her former husband, Ron Eliran and other extended family.

As a young woman Patty and her sisters participated in many Pennsylvania Beauty Pageants. She competed alongside many aspiring models and actresses, including Actress and Singer Shirley Jones. Patty won a competition which included an all expense paid trip; which she shared with her mother Helen. The Bavin sisters were beautiful women. So much that they were pin-up poster models during WWII.

When Patty left home, she went to New York, where she worked as a Bookkeeper and Model for a retail store selling Fur Coats and Jackets. She was an artist and a poet. When she met her husband Ron (a professional Isreali singer) they traveled the Holy Land of Israel, resided in New York, Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills of California. They lived a life when folk music was rising in popularity. Together they shared performing in popular New York City Folk Nightclubs alongside Bob Dylan and multiple legendary performers of today. They had their own label and as a poet Patty wrote lyrics to songs. In fact, Pete Seeger had performed one of them titled "I Have A Rabbit". She was also credited in the writing of the "Ecumenical March" recorded and performed by the Chad Mitchell Trio when John Denver was with the group. Unbeknownst to Patty, you can Google her name and find her online.

She returned to her family home in Pennsylvania to care for her mother Helen, until her final days where she remained until her own death.

Patty touched the hearts of all who knew or met her.  Her heart and arms were open for all.  She was a genuinely good and honest person with the kindest soul.  She loved God, loved nature and all that it offered.  She loved customs and traditions. She loved to learn and was an avid reader. She cherished her treasures, eclectic works of art, romanticism, renaissance, fairies and fireflies.  She was fun and she knew how to live!!

She was a strong, independent woman and the last living Bavin of this branch to the family tree. She will be deeply missed.

As per Patricia’s wishes there are no funeral services and she will be buried in a grave with her mother in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
