MILDRED  (BENDIK)  PETRISIN

Mildred “Millie” Petrisin, age 98, of Clairton, Pennsylvania, passed away in her home, on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.  She was born Mildred Bendik on October 27, 1923, in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania, one of seven children of Michael J. Sr. and Ann (Martin) Bendik.

Millie, who prayed the Rosary every day, was a salesclerk for J.C. Penney’s department store, in Century III Mall, Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania. She loved to crochet and make Afgans for all her grandchildren and friends; loved planting flowers in her yard and making sure there were never any weeds.  She was always ready to babysit her grandchildren and teach them to cook her favorite family foods, especially, Nut Rolls and Apricot cookies and loved traveling, especially visiting the grandchildren in California, every year.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome John Petrisin in 1997; her son, Dennis Petrisin in 2019, a brother, Michael J. Bendik, and sisters, AnnMarie “Pudgy” Carbonaro and Helen Maksin.

Millie is survived by four sons, Gerald (Alena) Petrisin of Fort Myers, Florida, Raymond (Cheryl) Petrisin of Morgantown, West Virginia, John (Karen) Petrisin of Peters Township, Pennsylvania and Robert Petrisin of Temecula, California; daughter-in-law, Brenda (Dennis’ wife) of Rostraver Township, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren, Gerald, Petrisin Jr., Tyler (Katie) Petrisin, Kaylynn (Zack) Johnson, Matthew Petrisin, Lauren Petrisin. Danielle (Bill) Altman, Nichole (Rick) Ruiz, Evyn Petrisin, Rachel (Tyler) Peters and Michele (Adam Bridge) Petrisin; twelve great-grandchildren, Hannah, Myles, Mila, Micah, Brayden, Michaela, Grace, Abigail, Enrique, Treyson, Cicilia and Adam; and siblings, Marge Galamb of The Villages, Florida, Irene Casiraro of Mesa, Arizona and Edward “Ben” Bendik of Clairton.  She is also survived by loving neighbors and friends who helped her, Linda Kutsenkow, Sharon Clipper and Larry Turner.

Friends will be received on Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 2 – 6 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com.  A prayer will be held in the funeral home on Monday, March 7, 2022, at 9:15 AM, with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10 AM in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton.  She will be buried in St. Clare Cemetery, on Worthington Avenue in Clairton, next to her husband and sister, Helen.
