Marjorie Ann “Margie” Amati, age 85 formerly of Clairton, Pennsylvania, died on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at her daughter Michelle’s home surrounded by her children. She was born Marjorie Ann Kadar in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on April 5, 1935 a daughter of Michael and Anne (Robb) Kadar of McKeesport.
Margie worked for Kaufmann’s / Macy’s department store and retired after 20 plus years of employment.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Laurence B. Amati who died in 2006. Margie and Laurence were married in 1955.
She is survived by her four children, Michelle (Ray) Algeri of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, Larry (Terry Eggerton) Amati of Imperial, Pennsylvania, Beth (Bob Waltz, Jr.) Waltz of Red Lion, Pennsylvania and Allison (Joe) Esper of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Michael Algeri, Jennifer Govern, Scott Algeri, Zachary Waltz, Leigh Waltz, Alex Amati, Rylee Esper and Jera Esper; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen Houy and Joanne Young along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 2 – 8 PM with a service on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10:30 AM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51, Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania15025. She will be buried next to her husband in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania.

Margie’s life was devoted to her family and she cherished her role as mother, grandmother and Gigi.
