MADISYN  BROOKE  YUHAS

Maddie, age 21 of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, died of a life-long illness on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh surrounded by family and friends.  She was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on November 11, 1998 the daughter of Mary Yuhas and Chad Vibostak.

In spite of what she was going through, Madisyn was a warm and compassionate daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend.   She always put others before herself.  She was a beautiful person, inside and out.  With her sass and quick wit, she lived up to her nickname, Mada-tude.

Madisyn lived life to the fullest, not allowing EB to hold her back.  Madisyn knew how to have a good time.  She loved to binge watch Grey's Anatomy and F.R.I.E.N.D.S.  She enjoyed drawing, dancing, cheerleading and softball.  She took bravery to the extreme by riding the Dragster at Cedar Point, the SkyCoaster at Kennywood and parasailing at the beach.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, John and Frances Yuhas and Jim McCombs.

Maddie is survived by her Mom and Dad; her brother, Michael (Nicole) Yuhas of Elizabeth; her niece, Ella Yuhas and her “soon to be” nephew, Nolan Brooks Yuhas; grandparents, Emil Doner and Mary Jo (Vibostak) McCombs; many aunts, Cathy (Ray) Uhrin, Patricia Yuhas, April Sestito, Louise (Frank) Rayer, Jerri Yuhas, Carol (Donny) Scagline and Barb (Jerry) Searles; an uncle Johnny Yuhas; many cousins, Ashley Alcock, Keegen Alcock, Sean Uhrin, Ashley Uhrin, Caitlin Uhrin, Sarah Yuhas, Kayla Yuhas, Jeffrey Yuhas, Krystal Sestito, Tyler Sestito, Frank Rayer, Christopher Yuhas, Jordan Yuhas, Bryan Scagline, Cody Scagline and Amanda Rayer; her best friend, Madison McMeans; her cat Harlow.

Friends and family will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 1 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm.  A Blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 10 am with Father Nick Mastrangelo.  Madisyn will be buried in Round Hill Cemetery

If desired, her family suggests donations to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, The Debra Foundation or Make-A-Wish.

Family meant everything to Maddie and she was loved and cherished by all who knew her.  One of her favorite quotes that she lived by was, "Never ruin a good day by thinking about a bad yesterday.  LET IT GO."
