West Mifflin

Lois  M.  Brier

Lois Brier, age 90 of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, died on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the home she shared with her son Joe in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.  She was born on May 31, 1930 in West Mifflin one of six children of Conrad Emil Kegler and Anna Marie (Eckert) Kegler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Brier in 2013 and siblings, Norma June Norris, Evelyn McConeghy, Richard and Howard Kegler.  Lois is survived by her three children, Joseph C. Brier, with whom she lived, Carol (Paul) Popp and Mark (Bonnie) Brier; three grandchildren, Randi (John) Hartman, Zachary Brier and Claire Brier; one great grandson, Cameron Hartman and her sister, Ethel Dearfield.

Lois received a terminal diagnosis 2 1/2 years ago, and despite the prognosis, she lived her life to the fullest, thanks in great part to her caring and loving son, Joe.  We will greatly miss her selflessness, caring nature, and abundant and unconditional love.  We are so blessed and privileged to have shared a lifetime with her.  She celebrated all her family's successes, each one as special and important and one of those was reaching the age of 90 and holding her great grandson, Cameron.

She was a life long member of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church in West Mifflin and the consummate caretaker, always wanting to make certain that everyone was fed.  Her love poured out in the food she would prepare especially for holidays, keeping the traditions of her family and her husband's family, alive.

It is with this thought, that we kindly ask that any memorial gifts be directed to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 1 N. Linden Street, Duquesne, PA  15110.  Lois would want nothing greater than to ensure that all God's children are fed.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions and to honor Lois' wishes, her funeral will be private.  Please honor her cherished memory at your next family gathering through a moment of silence and celebration.  Lois would love nothing greater than a quiet tribute at your family event.

Welcome to heaven, Lois M. Brier, God's newest angel.
