LAWRENCE MILTON CUNNINGHAM

Larry Cunningham, age 85 of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, formerly of Clairton, Pennsylvania, died on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at his home with family by his side.  He was born July 9, 1936, in Dravosburg, Pennsylvania one of eight children of William Raymond Cunningham and Dorothy Gonzaga (Morris) Cunningham. He grew up in Dravosburg and attended and graduated from McKeesport High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.

He was a member of the Dravosburg American Legion Post 380 and served in the US Navy during the Korean War as a Radarman aboard the U.S.S. Stephen Potter.  Larry worked for Pennsylvania American Water Company as a Public Relations person, retiring in 1994 after 23 years.  Being an avid golfer, he played in many Chambers of Commerce charity golf events representing the Water company.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carole; and six of his siblings. Sisters, Betty Leonard, Joan Beam and Sharon Luketic and brothers, William, Jack and Robert Cunningham.  He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Karen (Riddlebaugh) Cunningham; his step-daughter, Kim (Dave) Hritz; one remaining sibling, brother, Glenn (Laurel) Cunningham of McKeesport and many nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters in law.

At this time services for Larry will be private and he will be entombed with Military Honors in New St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in North Versailles, Pennsylvania. Arrangements by Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.stephendslater.com.

A public Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
