Kimberly Goettel, age 61 of Forward Township, Pennsylvania, died Monday, February 14th, 2022, peacefully at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born on January 6th, 1961, the oldest of two daughters of Theodore and Mary (Donofrio) Ickiewicz.

Kim grew up in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania and graduated from West Mifflin South High School in 1979. She was lovingly known by her family as Aunt Kimmy or “G”. She was the organizer of all family functions. She enjoyed a house full of family and friends and hosting parties or get-togethers.

Kim was the proprietor of Mentor Stables (Horse Boarding) which was run at her farm for 18 years. She had various occupations throughout the years. She loved antiques and estate sales, enjoyed gardening and had elaborate flower beds; was very fond of bird watching, remoldeling projects and purse shopping. Her most recent project was designing, building, and decorating her forever home in Forward Township with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore “Ted” Ickiewicz and her first husband, George W. Hayden.

Kim is survived by her husband, E. William “Bill” Goettel; two stepchildren, Stacey (Goettel) Abels and her husband, Keith Abels, of Forward Township and stepson, Robert “Bob” Goettel and his wife Deanna (Sweeney) Goettel also of Forward Township; five grandchildren, Haylee Abels, Isabella Goettel, Braylynn Abels, Gage Abels and Jakob Goettel; her sister, Kathy Ann Rossi of Clairton, PA; nephews, Ryan Rossi and Maxwell Rossi of Clairton and nieces, Sarah Gossman of Elizabeth, PA, Karri Bendel of Pittsburgh, PA and Amanda Bendel of Greenoak, PA.

A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 17th, 2022, from 4 – 8 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. As you come the funeral home, there will be a chance to write a memory of Kim to share with her family in a “Memory Jar”.

In lieu of flowers, in remembrance of Kim, her husband say’s “please spend time with your family and close friends, as life is too short.”

Kim will be deeply missed by many.
