EVELYN (GRIMES) STUTZMAN

Evelyn Marie Stutzman, age 67, of Mount Washington in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023. She was born on July 21, 1955, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, one of sixteen children of Elmer Leroy Grimes, Sr. and Mary Ann (Sellers) Grimes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Joshua; her father-in-law, Clyde Stutzman; sisters, Margaret (the late Elmer) Steffan, Judith (the late Charles) Teets, Esther (the late Thomas) Hannigan, Constance (the late Robert) Silbaugh, Shirley Grimes, and Mary (the late Richard) Holler and brothers, Elmer (the late Ruthann) Grimes, Jr., James Grimes, and Robert Grimes.

Evelyn is survived by her devoted husband, Terry Stutzman; children, George (Sue Shipley) Layhue, Thomas (Christina Cole) Layhue, Elmer (Lynn Rush) Layhue, Terry Krueger, Karen Lang, Jessie Seighman, and Melanie Luft. She is the loving grandmother of Aidan, Katelyn (Daniel) Maley, Austin and Elmer (Scooby) Layhue, Andrew McCullough, Joey and Cassie Rush, Lindsey Cable, Melissa Lecorchick, Hayley Price, James, Elexious and Izaak Walters, Samara Vazquez, Elliot, Mara, and Emily Nelson.

Evelyn is also survived by her mother-in-law, Edna Stutzman; sisters, Theresa (the late Howard) Kraus, Barbara (the late Sam) Walters, and Linda (Greg) Garred; brothers, Gerald Grimes, John (Peggy) Grimes, and Christopher (Sue Sutton) Grimes; sister-in-law, Lois Grimes; sister-in-law, Patty (the late Roy) Baum and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will be received from 2 – 8 pm on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home, 1701 Route 51, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025. (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. Evelyn’s funeral service will be held at 8PM on Wednesday at the conclusion of the visitation.
