Dolores June Ragone “Dee,” age 83 of Clairton, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2020. She was born on June 20, 1937 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Harry Ernest and Irene Elizabeth (Rusnock) Heidenfelder.
Dolores graduated from McKeesport High School in 1955. She married the love of her life, Rocco Samuel Ragone from Clairton on May 27, 1957. She worked at Westinghouse Airbrake until she became a mom; then devoted the rest of her life to being a loving wife, mom, grandma and great grandma.
Dee was a Girl Scout troop leader for many years and the “bus lady” in the Wilson section of Clairton. She was known for her delicious cooking and baking. Her family enjoyed weekly Sunday dinners, holiday gatherings and special birthday dinners. Dee never missed an opportunity to spend time with her family. She and Rocco attended every school, music and sporting event for their children and grandchildren. We enjoyed many family trips and outings and we will cherish those memories always and forever.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rocco (Rocky) Ragone and grandson, Dylan Shuck. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rocco, two daughters, Donna (Dereck) Shuck of Liberty Borough, Pennsylvania and Roxanne (Chris) Oberst of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Dominic (Brittini) Shuck, Cassidy Oberst and Christian Oberst; a great grandson, Maximus Shuck and her brother, Charles (Marge) Heidenfelder and her sister, Joan (Edd) Highsmith. She would also want us to include her “granddog”, Casper.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) on Sunday, July 26, 2020 from 4 – 8 PM There will be a Mass for Dee on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 10 AM in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, Holy Spirit Church EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Her burial will be graveside in St. Clare Cemetery in Clairton immediately following the Mass.
Due to the limitations on indoor gatherings visitors to the funeral home will be limited to 25 people at a time and all people MUST wear masks.
