CAROL JUNE (MINUCCI) SCHMITT

Carol Schmitt, age 68 of Pleasant Hills, formerly of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, died at her home after a long courageous battle with MS.  Carol was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 13, 1954, one of three daughters of Louis and June (Hengstler) Minucci.

She grew up in the Brentwood Borough area of Pittsburgh and graduated from Brentwood High School in 1972. She then attended the University of Pittsburgh receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1976 and a master’s degree in library science in 1977. Carol then worked for the Allegheny County Health Department as a Librarian.

Carol was an avid reader who loved books so much that her gifts to nieces and nephews were always books that she knew they would like.  She loved to cook, loved cats and LOVED horror movies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Parker.  Carol is survived by her husband of 46 years, Bob Schmitt; daughter, Jennifer (Paul) O’Rourke of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Jameson, Eilish and Finn O’Rourke; her sister, Nancy (Bill) Keys and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
