Wilfred "Homer" Jester

Homer Jester, age 88 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.  He was born Wilfred Ray Jester on June 4, 1935, the youngest of eleven children of Charles Howard Jester and Elizabeth (King) Jester.  The family lived in “the Patch” of what was then Jefferson Borough in Allegheny County.

Homer worked 45 years in the automotive industry, working for Carroll Pontiac in Clairton, Pennsylvania.  He loved everything about “his day and age” cars and attending car shows. Another, of his favorite things was “socializing” at the old Large Hotel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Bagley) Jester and all of his ten siblings, brothers, Jones, Raymond, Arnold George “Skip”, William David and Charles Jester and sisters, Mildred Petrovich, Florence Jester, Catherine Boal, Hazel Verlich, and Thelma Bergles.

He is survived by daughter, Susan (Jim) Shore who lived with him; grandson Ryan (Chelsey Smith); great grandson, Noah Ryan Shore and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 12 Noon – 2 pm in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. Burial will be at a later date in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.
