Thomas Edison Large , age 87, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at his home in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania with family at his side. He was born December 2, 1923 in Jefferson Borough (now Jefferson Hills), Pennsylvania, one of six children of Thomas and Margaret (Wallace) Large. He served in the U. S. Army as a Medic during World War II and worked as a Millwright for US Steel’s Clairton Works in Clairton, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Marie (Hallas) Large on November 27, 2000 and 3 brothers, Harry, Austin and Samuel Large. Tom is survived by 2 children, daughter, Sandra (Frank) Seeman and son, Thomas Raymond Large; 4 grandchildren, Spring (John) McCann, Thomas Jaison (Eileen), Rebecca and Kotye Large; 5 great-grandchildren, John, Connor and Colby McCann and Jonathan and Alex Large; 1 sister, Margaret "Peg" Beam and 1 brother, Robert Large.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM on Friday, November 18, 2011 in Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills where his funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11 AM with Reverend Robert Titus of Lebanon Presbyterian Church in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania officiating.
