THELMA P. HARRISON
Thelma Harrison, age 93 of Clairton, Pennsylvania, died on Saturday, February 11, 2017. She was born Thelma Pearl Wise on August 12, 1923 in Jefferson Township (now Jefferson Hills), Pennsylvania, one of six children of Vincent and Pearl Cathryn (Martin) Wise. Thelma was a longtime member and contributor of Jefferson United Methodist Church in Jefferson Hills and retired after 40 years, working as a Head Service Correspondent with US Steel at the Clairton Works.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Bernard Harrison, January 28, 2000; a stepson, Bernard J. Harrison, January 14, 2000 and her four brothers, Delmar, Glenn, Darl and Delbert Wise. Thelma is survived by a stepson, Timothy Harrison; a step-grandchild; her sister, Della Henderson of Liberty Borough, Pennsylvania and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51, Large in Jefferson Hills, on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 7 – 9 PM and on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM. On Thursday, February 16, 2017 there will be a prayer in the funeral home at 9:45 AM followed by a procession to the Jefferson United Methodist Church for her funeral service at 10:30 AM with the Pastor Kathy Clark officiating. Thelma will be buried in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills.
