Thelma “Buddy” M.

Thelma M. Bertie, age 92, of Glassport, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021. She was born September 4, 1928 in Glassport, to the late Domenic and Nettie (Plaster) Bertie.

She worked at Enamel Products in Christy Park in McKeesport. In her spare time, she loved to craft, she was skilled at crocheting, sewing, and quilting. She also liked to attend craft shows, read and was a bird watcher and animal lover. Thelma always had a calming presence about her and would do anything for anyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several siblings, August, Charles, John, William, Elsie, and Mary Jane. She is survived by a brother, Francis Bertie; and a niece, Sharon Bertie.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 24th from 3 – 7 PM at Stephen Slater Funeral Home, 1701 Route 51, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025. Her funeral service will be in the funeral home on Thursday, March 25th at 10 AM and burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her parents.
