Sheran Shipley

Sheran L. Shipley, raised in Beallsville, Pennsylvania, of Jefferson Hills, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 with her family by her side.

Sheran graduated from The Washington Hospital School of Nursing and began her career as a R.N. Operating Room Nurse in Washington Hospital. She continued her education earning her MBA in Business Administration from The Wharton School while her advancing her career to Vice President of Perioperative Services for Allegheny General Hospital, where she served many of the Allegheny Health Network hospitals until retiring.

Sheran loved to be active and after retiring, she started a second career as a licensed real estate agent. She truly enjoyed making and selling her crafts at regional art festivals with her sister and husband, working in her yard and gardening, decorating her home, entertaining at her home, reading, and listening to her books on tape. She also enjoyed going to Ocean City, Maryland each and every year for more than forty years with her family. Her most enjoyable holiday was Christmas with her family, especially her two children – Tracie and Jeff. She loved most all music but was particularly fond of oldies and could dance the night away with her husband Greg listening to her favorite songs. She also truly enjoyed her two dogs – Finnegan and LuLu.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Courtly Hall and Mary Elizabeth (Best) Hall.

Sheran is survived by her husband of 16 years, Greg T. Shipley; children, Tracie L. Elza of Jefferson Hills and Jeffrey A. Kuhar of White Oak, PA; her sister, Janice (Charles Randall) Bowlen of Uniontown, PA; Greg’s children, Mike (Lindy) Shipley, Brandon (Wendy) Shipley, Jason (Amanda) Shipley and Julie (Matt) Ritchie; Greg’s five grandchildren; her three nieces, Patricia Craig, Barbara (Bill) Walsh and Susan (Greg) Kretz, many great nieces and nephews, and her two dogs, Finnegan and Lulu.

Friends and Family will be received on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 (412-384-0350). Her funeral service will be in the funeral home on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10 AM . Burial will follow in Lafayette Cemetery132 Twin Hills Road, Brier Hill, PA 15415.
