RUTH ANN (FOX) JOLL LADLEY

Ruth Ladley, age 87, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from a long battle with dementia. She was born and raised in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Greenfield. Ruth was a faithful, active member of the Greenfield Presbyterian Church for 50 years, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and was an Ordained Deacon and Elder. She was most recently a member of the Lincoln Place Presbyterian Church where in addition to the church services, she enjoyed socializing at the weekly luncheons. Ruth Ann Fox was one of three children of Louis William Fox and Anne (Robson) Fox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David R. Ladley; her sisters and their husbands, Mary (Oliver) Miller, and Lois (Anthony) Brozovich and a stepson, David “Bucky” Ladley.

Ruth worked for the Pittsburgh Board of Education for over 30 years in both the Greenfield and Burgwin Schools. Ruth was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Anna M. Rote Chapter.

 She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Joseph Ramirez) Joll-Ramirez and Karen (Pete) Steffey, both of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania; stepson, John Ladley; three grandchildren, Jessica Santoriello, Brian Dicks and Nicholas J. Ramirez; three great grandchildren, Enzo, Nico and Cameron Santoriello and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 3:30 – 7:30 pm in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. There will be an Eastern Star service during the visitation at 6:30 pm. Ruth’s funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, September 21. 2023 at 10 am with the Reverends, Jim Davidson and Judi Slater officiating.  Her burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
