ROBERT O. WRIGHT

Robert Oliver Wright, age 92 of West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, November 4, 2017.  He was born on January 25, 1925 in Clairton, Pennsylvania, one of eight children of Colonel Charles and Mary Deliah (Thompson) Wright.  He was self-employed as a Commercial Display Artist owning his own company, Wright Displays, for over 60 years and was a partner in Bob Don Stables for Harness Racing Horses.  Bob was a Sergeant in the Army Airforce during World War II and a longtime Rotarian in Clairton.  He loved to read and in his later years due to failing eyesight, loved audio books.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret “Rita” (Zando) Wright in 2011; a son, Shawn Wright and all of his siblings, three who died in infancy, Raymond, Jane and Mary and four in adult life, a sister Dorothy and three brothers, Charles, Ralph and William Wright.  He is survived by two sons, Bob (Nancy) Wright of Leechburg, Pennsylvania and Derek (Kathy) Wright of West Elizabeth; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Wright of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Megan Nylander Wright, Robert James Wright, Joshua Alexander Wright, Elizabeth Ann Wright, Melissa Ann Wright, and Sarah Ann Wright and two great grandchildren, great granddaughter, Cassidy Jolene Wright and great grandson, Knox Alexander Wright.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, where his funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10 AM.  His burial, with Military Honors, will be in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.

The Wright family suggests donations be made in Bob’s name to any local library for the purchase of audio books.
