Robert F. Snyder age 71, of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, formerly of Meadville, Pennsylvania died on Friday, October 28, 2011 at his home surrounded by family members. He was born February 29, 1940 one of two sons, to Theodore & Virgil Snyder in Meadville. He was a 1961 graduate of Allegheny College, in Meadville, where he was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. Robert worked for over 43 years in management with K-mart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother Virgil (Miles) Snyder on October 11, 2011, in Meadville, at age 99; and is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia “Patty” Snyder; 4 children, Robert E. Snyder of California, Kathleen Snyder of West Mifflin, Timothy Snyder of Cincinnati, Ohio and Mary Ann (Mark) Patterson of Cleveland, Ohio; 2 grandchildren Bryan Snyder and Caitlin Patterson and his brother David (Lucy) Snyder of Valrico, Florida.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM. There will be a prayer in the funeral home on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 9 AM followed by Mass of Christian burial in Holy Spirit Catholic Church in West Mifflin at 10 AM with Father John Lendvai officiating. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery, Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
