Robert Wesley Griffith (Bob)
Beloved Father, Outdoorsman, and Friend
Age 63, of Canonsburg, PA, passed away suddenly, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and treasured memories.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tracy Griffith, as well as his cherished dog, Kenya, and cat, Pretty Boy. He is survived by his devoted son, Robert G. Griffith, and daughter-in-law, Sara Passarella.
For many years, Bob worked at U.S. Steel Edgar Thomson Works, where his career was more than just a job. He took pride in his work, valued the friendships he made there, and deeply respected his coworkers.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to his coworkers at U.S. Steel who were with him on the day he passed, who rendered emergency care and did everything they could to help him—your kindness and efforts will never be forgotten. The family also wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the local EMS, and the medical staff at UPMC McKeesport, Stat MedEvac, and UPMC Presbyterian for the extraordinary care and compassion they showed for Bob that day.
Outside of work, Bob was happiest in nature. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in fly fishing, tying his own flies, and traveling to new creeks, with a special fondness for Lake Erie and its tributaries. He loved his loyal dog, Tank, and his cat, Kittycat, who were constant companions. A baseball fan at heart, Bob cherished the times he spent at games with his son, making memories that will last a lifetime.
Bob will be remembered for his quiet strength, his dedication to family and friends, and the passions that brought him joy. Most of all, he will be deeply missed for his presence in our lives and his quirky sense of humor that could always bring a smile.
His last act of kindness was the gift of a better life, made through tissue donation with CORE.
We take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with Tracy, Kenya, and Pretty Boy, and that his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Gone to cast his line on heaven’s streams,
Where laughter echoes and the waters gleam
