ROBERT L. DOVALOVSKY
Robert L. Dovalovsky, age 66 of Clairton, Pennsylvania formerly of Cumberland, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018. He was born August 22, 1952 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, one of two children of the late William F. and Marie (Wingard) Dovalovsky, Sr.
Bob was a Monongahela High School Graduate. He attended The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and completed his undergrad studies with a B.S. in Biology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating he worked in data processing production for Amtrak Corporate Data Center in Washington, D.C., MCI/WorldCom where he was “The Prince of Configuration”, and EDS as a custom hardware design specialist. After retirement he worked for Ostrander Motor Werkes of Cumberland and Fresh Thyme in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania.
Devoted husband of Jay-Jay Klapka-Dovalovsky of Clairton; brother of William F., Jr. of Monongahela, Pennsylvania. Bob was also survived by devoted family members, Janet (Paul) McKernan, Eve (Russell) Johnson, and additional cousins.
In addition to his family he was survived by his friends and professional colleagues at MCI/WorldCom, Ostrander Motor Werkes and Fresh Thyme.
Bob’s family extends their sincere and deep appreciation to Drew and Steve Slater in recognition for their most compassionate and considerate services.
A Celebration of Bob’s life and a Mass of Resurrection will be held in the Pittsburgh area on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 1216 Collins Avenue, Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025, with a time of remembrance from 9 – 9:30am immediately followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 9:30am.
A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will also be held in the Baltimore area on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at St. Mark Chapel, 30 Melvin Ave. Catonsville, MD 21228 at 12:30pm. Funeral Arrangements were made by Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home, 1701 Route 51, Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15015. 412-384-0350.
In lieu of flowers, Bob's family requests that donations be made, in his memory, to either:
St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The Salvation Army
