ROBERT FRANCIS BOWERS
Robert Bowers, age 79, passed away gently from the arms of his family on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at his home in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania. He was born on January 24, 1937 in West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania one of four children of William J. and Mary Cecelia (Byrnes) Bowers. Robert was a retired Pipefitter and Construction Engineering Piping Inspector for US Steel at the Clairton, Pennsylvania Works.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla A. Fedinick, and all of his siblings, brother, William J. Bowers and sisters, Catherine Trbojevic and Joann V. Kudla. Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Bowers; two children, son, Robert P. Bowers of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania and daughter, Rachelle R. Arvoy of Cleveland, Ohio and five grandchildren Rachael A. and Matthew R. Bowers, Raymond R. McConaghy, III, Kaitlin R. Carmel and Daniel L. Fedinick.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Large, in Jefferson Hills, on Monday, November 28, 2016 and Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 6 – 8:30 PM. There will be a funeral prayer in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at 9 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 10 AM in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, in Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania. Robert’s burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, also in Elizabeth Township.
