Bob Archbald, age 68 of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at his home. He was born in New York City and raised in Hastings on Hudson, New York one of three children of Robert W. Archbald, Sr. and Harriet M. (Lockwood) Archbald on August 6, 1955.
Bob graduated high school from Valley Forge Military Academy in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania in 1974 and then was a 1978 graduate of State University of New York (SUNY). He was a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America; attended the 1970 World Boy Scout Jamboree in Japan; was a Cub and Boy Scout Leader as an adult and the proud father of two sons who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. In his free time, he was an avid golfer and loved the beach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lisa S. Stewart in 2001. Bob is survived by his wife Margaret (McGarrity) Archbald; two sons, Robert W. Archbald, III of Old Lyme, Connecticut and Andrew S. L. Archbald of North Chesterfield, Virginia; a stepdaughter, Alison Muller of Elkton, Maryland; six grandchildren Annalisa, Baily, Nora, Riley and twins, Aubrey and Helana; step-grand twins, Owen and Olivia Muller and his two sisters, Elizabeth Cardone and Carolyn Mark Crunkleton.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 13, 2023, from 1 – 5 pm in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. Bob’s funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, August 14, 2023, at 11 am. His graveside burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
