RICHARD “DICK” PIERCE
Dick Pierce, age 79 of Forward Township, near Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, died on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Formerly of Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania, he was born Richard Allen Pierce on March 17, 1942, in the Hazelwood section of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dick was one of three children of Norman Richard Pierce and Gabrielle (Kaczkowski) Pierce.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a Staff Sargent in the U. S. Air Force. Dick belonged to Strategic Air Commands, the 509th Bomb Wing, the 95th Bomb Wing and the 305th Bomb Wing. His proudest achievement in the Air Force was being Crew Chief of a B-58 Hustler.
In his working career, he retired after 37 years for General Motors at the Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania as a Senior Reliability Engineer. Dick was a car and boat enthusiast and loved working with wood as a carpenter. At the time of his death, he was a Life Member and President of the Forward Township Volunteer Fire Company.
In addition to his parents Dick was preceded in death by his sister, Norma Rockwell. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Karen (Moresea) Pierce; four children, sons, Richard Allen (Geneva) Pierce, Jr. of Aurora, Illinois, Norman Kenwood (Lisbeth) Pierce of Macy, Indiana, Steven Joseph Pierce and Christopher Dennis Pierce, both of Forward Township; three grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jordan Pierce and Ashley (Brock) Neher; three great grandchildren; his brother, Joseph Edmund Pierce and brothers-in-law, Orrie Rockwell and Arkille Moresea.
Family and Friends will be received on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. A Blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 11:30 AM. Dick will be buried with Military Honors in Round Hill Cemetery Elizabeth, Pennsylvania 15037.

More than anything else, Dick loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren!
