Reverend Robert R. Slack, age 89, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Weltytown, PA passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015. He was born May 29, 1926 in New Castle, PA to the late Robert Audley & Violet Lucille (Jacob) Slack. Robert was a retired United Methodist Minister who served at Pardoe, Stoneboro, West Elizabeth, Elrama, Pleasant Unity, Lycippus, Centerville, Taylor, Shanksville & Central City Methodist Churches. He was most recently a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church. Robert was also a WWII Veteran, serving as a Staff Sargent in the Army Airforce in the Pacific Theater.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William Albert Slack. Robert is survived by his wife, Gwenda Mae (Richards) Slack; children, Barbara A. (Ron) Lewis, Laura M. (Craig) Edwards & Thomas R. (Henrietta) Slack; grandchildren, Jennifer (Lewis) Spatara, Rebecca Lewis, Jessica Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Chad Edwards, Cory Edwards, Nicole (Edwards) Morris & Thomas Slack II; & 11 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday, October 28 th in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:30 AM in Jefferson United Methodist Church, 310 Gill Hall Rd., Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 with Reverend Sandra Marsh – McClain officiating. A private burial will be held at The National Cemetery of The Alleghenies with full military honors. Please visit www.stephendslater.com for condolences.
