Raymond Robert Rossi, age 90 of Jefferson Hills died Friday, November 5, 2010 in UPMC – McKeesport Hospital. Ray was born January 27, 1920 in Clairton the 6 th of 7 children to Celestino and Domenica Rossi. He retired in 1982 from US Steel’s Irvin Works Cold Reduction Roll Shop. He served during WW II in the U.S. Army Coast Artillery and was a member of the S.O.I. # 941, Clairton American Legion # 75 and the Dutch Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Angelina (Zupi) Rossi, October 3, 2008 and five of his six siblings. He is survived by 2 daughters, Cathy (Jim) Leete of Finleyville and Patti (Tom) Mason of Glendale, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Gina and Elizabeth; 1 brother, Julius Rossi of Fallsington, PA. He was “Uncle Ray” to many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Monday from 6 – 8 PM and Tuesday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, where a funeral prayer will be held on Wednesday at 9 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church with Father Robert Boyle officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Known as an avid sports enthusiast, Ray was a happy go lucky spirit with a warm and disarming personality. To his family he will always be remembered as a dependable, fun loving, gentle man with a good sense of humor and always a story to tell. A special thanks to his friends at The Dutch Club.
