PAULINE (HOLMES) GARDEN
Pauline Garden, age 86, of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania died Friday, March 21, 2014. She was born Ruth Pauline Holmes on July 22, 1927 in West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, one of three daughters of John William Holmes and Isabel MacFarlane (Bucy) Holmes. Pauline graduated from Clairton High School in Clairton, Pennsylvania in 1945, Slippery Rock College in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania in 1949 and began a teaching career. She taught in the Elizabeth, Pennsylvania and Glassport, Pennsylvania school districts, before teaching over 25 years and retiring from the West Jefferson Hills School District. She was a member and Elder of the Olivet Presbyterian Church in West Elizabeth.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Garden, Jr.; two sons, Kevin and Jeff Garden; two grandchildren, Trevor and Christine Garden; a great-grandson, Connor Garden and her two sisters, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Miller and Margaret Gieske.
At Pauline’s request there will be no visitation and a Memorial Service will be Private.
