It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Karloski announces his passing after a brief illness on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the age of 79. He was born on January 2, 1940 in Glassport, Pennsylvania, a twin into a large family of 8 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Gertrude (Dombrowski) Karloski and four of his siblings, brothers, Peter, Theodore M. and Frank M. Karloski and sister Frances Scewczyk.
Paul will be dearly missed by his wife of 34 years, Sandra Dess Karloski. He is survived by five children, Paul (Denise) Karloski Jr, Edward Karloski, Kelly (Kelly C.) Karloski Pidgeon, Walter Dess, and Dana Dess. He will be fondly remembered by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his remaining three siblings, sisters, Helen Demeda and Sally Shaner and brother, John Karloski He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He served in the US Army in Korea and then went on to work as an electrician for US Steel until his retirement. Paul was beloved by all and known to be a kind and caring husband, father, brother, and uncle. He spent his retirement years doting over his loving family, gardening, feeding his wild birds and watching the Steelers and NASCAR. Paul was also an avid flea marketer and could be frequently spotted throughout the community attending neighborhood yard sales.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne, Pennsylvania on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10 AM.
In recognition of his military service he will be interred with Military Honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pennsylvania at a later date in the Spring of 2020. Once arrangements are made family and friends will be notified.
