PAUL JAMES D’ANGELO
Paul D’Angelo, age 91 of Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania died peacefully at the home of his son Robert, of Dover, Pennsylvania, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday December 21, 2021. He was born on February 24, 1930, in Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA one of five children of Thomas D’Angelo and Catherine (DeTemple) D’Angelo.
He worked as a long-time Union Carpenter and even completed several carpentry projects for his children. Paul was proud of his military service as a Navy Seabee, serving in the Korean War. He enjoyed rebuilding Jeep automobiles and even learned to fly airplanes, taking lessons to become a Solo pilot. He loved to travel in the family motorhome and visited almost every state. Paul was an avid Civil War reenactor and appeared in several Civil War movies. He was involved in many of his children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Wandalee (Baker) D’Angelo; daughter-in-law (son James’ wife) Tricia D’Angelo, and siblings, Mary Reutzel, Thomas D’Angelo, Carmen D’Angelo, and Palma Fritsch.
Paul is survived by three children, James D’Angelo of Long Island, New York, Robert D. (Debbie) D’Angelo of Dover, and Karen (Ron Earley) D’Angelo of Rostraver, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Lori, Michael (Beth) and Matthew (Kim) D’Angelo and Krista (Justin) Garland; six great grandchildren, Ava, Kane, Annabel, Michaella, Adeline, and Paul, and he is also survived by his great grand puppy, Zayla.
Paul’s visitation and funeral service will be private with his family and close friends. He will be buried, with his wife, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.
