Patricia A. Potts, age 80, died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at her home in Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania. She was born Patricia Gawlas on October 8, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1 of 9 children of Francis Jerome Gawlas and Hannah Elizabeth (Smith) Gawlas. Patricia was previously employed by the J. C. Penney Co.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alan B. Potts on September 15, 1990 and 5 of her siblings, Regis, Kenneth and Harold Gawlas, Evelyn Erickson and Roberta Mulvihill. Patricia is survived by 4 beloved children, Diane (Phil) Reynolds of South Park, Pennsylvania, Alan R. (Candy) Potts of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, Kathy (William) Maxson of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania and Keith (Liza) Potts of Williamsburg, Virginia; 12 grandchildren, Anne (Michael) Wilmus, Jon (Megan) Reynolds, Patty (Nathan) Elicker, Jaime (Richard) Lewis, Elizabeth (Marc) Allemang, Benjamin (Jenna), William, Dana (Fiancé Michael Novosel) and Jacqueline Maxson, Jake, Lia and Allyn Potts; 1 great-granddaughter, Clare Maxson; 3 sisters, Marge (Jack) Bitzer, Gail (Joe) McCormley and Jean "Neddy" Strasen and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Friends will be received from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM on Sunday, December 12, 2010 in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 State Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills. A prayer will be held in the funeral home on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in the Elrama / Floreffe area of Jefferson Hills, with Father Robert Boyle celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Carroll Township, Monongahela, Pennsylvania.
