OLIVE  (STEWART)  SHIPP

Olive Shipp, age 94 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, died on Sunday, July 12, 2020 in Erie, Pennsylvania where her son Ralph Shipp resides.  Olive was born on October 18, 1925 in Rosedale (now the Penn Hills area of Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania, the youngest of eight children, of Christopher and Mary (Aldridge) Stewart.

She was a long-time member of the South Hills Assembly of God Church in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania and a long-time volunteer for Cornerstone Television, the Christian television station in Pittsburgh.  Olive loved sports, especially the Steelers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David S. Shipp in 1983; one of her daughters, Grace Ann Barclay; a great granddaughter and all seven of her siblings.  Olive is survived by 3 children, Linnie (Philip) Donahue, David A. (Deborah) Shipp and Ralph C. (Rebecca) Shipp; son-in-law, David Barclay; 9 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 from 4 – 7 PM.  Olive’s funeral service will be held PRIVATELY WITH HER FAMILY on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 with Pastor Jack Step officiating.

In lieu of flowers Olive’s family suggests for you to please donate to the charity of your choice.

Due to the limitations on gatherings of people mandated by our County and the Coronavirus outbreak, visitors to the funeral home will be limited to 25 people in our building at a time, therefore, due to family size, Olive’s funeral must be private.

OLIVE LOVED HER CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
