Olive Friday

Olive Friday, age 93 of Forward Township, Pennsylvania, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.  Olive was born on June 16, 1930, in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, one of three children of John P. Young and Elvera (Matz) Young.

She worked many years as a Telephone Operator for Bell Telephone in a West Mifflin, Pennsylvania office.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael David Friday, Sr., her son, Michael D. Friday, Jr. and both of her siblings, sister, Adele Young and John Young. She is survived by her son, Mark A. Friday of Forward Township; five grandchildren, Ryan (Nicki) Friday of Elizabth, Pennsylvania, Benjamin Friday of Forward Township, Lauren (Nickie) Corey of Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and Michael Friday III and Alyssa (Anthony) Velez both of Orlando, Florida and two great grandchildren, Mila and Theodore.

Family and friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 9 am to 11:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 12 Noon in Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton, Pennsylvania. Olive will be buried in St. Clare Cemetery in Clairton with her husband and son.
