Monica Lynn Solomon, 46 of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Braddock Hills, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 15, 2024.  Born in Pittsburgh on November 8, 1977, Monica was born the daughter of Mary Ann and Norman D Solomon.  In addition to her mom, Mary Ann, Monica is survived by her sisters, Cathy Solomon of Erie, PA; and Laura (Brian) Eckenrode of Norwich, CT; brother Norman Michael (Terri) Solomon of South Park, PA; fiancé William Goysich and dear friend Michelle “Mame” Alacce and aunts and uncles.  Additionally, Monica, or Aunt Lil as she was known is survived by nieces and nephews, Emily (Josh) Robertson; Nathaniel (Mackenzie) Eckenrode; Dakota (Andrea) Eckenrode; Jessica (Craig) Martin; Nicholas Solomon and Christopher Solomon, as well as great nephews Caleb, Thomas, Matthew and Owen Robertson and Clark and Calvin Eckenrode.  She also leaves behind her beloved dog Gracie.   Monica was preceded in death by her father, and her Grandparents Michael and Anna Kohan, as well as her dog Seamus.  


Monica was a 1996 graduate of Woodland Hills High School, where she was a member of the Wolverine Marching Band. Monica earned an associate degree from CCAC and worked for many years in customer service for MLB.com.    Monica was known for her ever present smile, her love of cooking, her extravagant St. Patrick’s Day Parade parties, and the love she showered on her nieces, nephews and great nephews.  Aunt Lil will be dearly missed.  


Family and Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com on Sunday, February 18th, 2024, from 1 – 3 PM and 5 – 7 PM.  A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home at 7 PM at the conclusion of the visitation.


A Memorial Mass will be held for Monica on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 10 AM in St. Joseph The Worker Parish, Sacred Heart Church 1600 Brinton Road, Braddock Hills, Pennsylvania 15221. A burial of her Urn will take place immediately following the Mass, in All Saints / Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
