Michael Joseph Vukelja

Michael Vukelja, age 56 of Finleyville, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly, on Sunday, December 31, 2023, of natural causes while doing what he loved, running on the beach in North Carolina. He was born on December 3, 1967, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, one of three children of Marie (Marcic) Vukelja and the late Stanley John Vukelja (dod: January 19, 2023) and grew up in Elizabeth Township, Pennsylvania.

Michael graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 1986 and then went on to earn a degree from Penn State University in electrical engineering. He was currently employed by Haddad’s, Inc. as an RV technician. He enjoyed traveling and all outdoor activities, especially hiking, skiing, and camping. He loved his dogs, especially “Igloo”, and family more than anything.

Michael will be dearly missed by his wife, Lori “Dolly”, who was and always will be his soulmate in life and even in death. He is survived by his mother, Marie; his siblings, Stephen (Sondra) Vukelja of Belle Vernon, PA, and Jenneifer (Jason) Jones of Summerville, NC and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 4 – 8 pm in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com. There will be no formal funeral services following the visitation.

Michael was always the “rock” and a calming presence in his family!
