Matthew John “Matt” Neeley passed away peacefully in his home in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania on April 19, 2024, one day after his 51st birthday. Matt was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 18, 1973, one of four children of Bruce E. and Margaret A. (Neuser) Neeley.
He grew up in Pleasant Hills Borough in Pittsburgh and graduated high school from Thomas Jefferson HS in 1991. After high school, he received both his bachelor's degree and master’s degree in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) from California State University of Pennsylvania. He worked initially with the Army Corps of Engineers and later as a project manager with various home builders. Matt enjoyed spending time in the woods surrounded by nature. He Loved animals, especially his pets. He was an avid reader of history and fantasy. It was common knowledge that he also loved collecting “treasures”.
Matt is survived by his two children, Ben and Kalli Neeley who he loved more than anything; his parents; his three siblings, sister, Shelley (Mike) Chestnut and brothers, Jeremy and Scott (Hannah) Neeley; and his ex-wife, Louise (Pacella) Neeley. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins and aunts.
His family will have a Celebration of his Life at a later date.
