Marlene Elizabeth White

Marlene White, age 79 of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026. She was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on December 7, 1946, one of four children of Joseph and Elsie (Fedder) Gumbetta.

Marlene grew up in West Mifflin and graduated from West Mifflin North High School in 1964. Just after high school she married her high school sweetheart, Jack. In her early years, she worked for General Electric as an Executive Secretary for many years. At a point in her career, she was to be laid off. To keep her tenure at the company and time in her pension fund she asked what other job could do and suddenly she found herself working in the field as a “Sandblaster”. In her later years, she worked for Jefferson Hospital in “registration” at the Surgery Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jack Thomas White; their three children, Blaine (Michelle) White of Knoxville, Tennessee, Keith (Jamie) White of Norvelt, Pennsylvania and Roberta White of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Megan (Richard), Stephen, Madison, Marlayna, Karson and Jackie; four great grandchildren, Maci, Harper, Sadie and Skyler and three sisters, Joyce (Ed) Skweres, Beverly (John) MacKay and Donna Bennett.

Family and Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm and on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 9 am – 11 am at which time a funeral service for Marlene will be held.

What Marlene would want people to remember is that “She loved her family”
