MARILYN (FILEK) DEVINE
Age 79 of Jefferson Hills, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2012. She was born February 12, 1933 in Pittsburgh a daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Jordan) Filek. Marilyn was an active member of the National Herb Society of America, Western PA unit and the Jefferson Hills Women’s Club, where she was a past president. She devoted many hours to the Round Hill Farm Herb Garden and was a former Democratic Committee Woman in Jefferson Hills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Rocky” Devine in August of 2000 (a Pressman for the Post Gazette and Pgh. Press) and her only sister, Carole Malisher. She is survived by 5 children, Robert J. (Jeanine) Devine of South Park, Gregory M. (Kathryn) Devine of Mt. Lebanon, Cynthia Grace (Timothy Kepner) Devine-Kepner of Brookline, Karen M. (David Seymour) Devine of Jefferson Hills and Christopher J. (Shelly) Devine of Dormont and 4 grandchildren, Collin James Devine, Liam Jordan Devine, Lane Devine Kepner and Jason Colditz
Friends will be received in the Stephen D Slater Funeral Home route 51 (Large) Jefferson Hills, Thursday 6 – 8 PM and Friday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM. A prayer will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Thomas A’Becket Catholic Church with Father Robert L. Seeman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Hazelwood.
