MARGARET “PEG” CLARK
Peg (Bendel) Clark, age 89 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away in West Newton, Pennsylvania at the home of her daughter Doris, surrounded by her family. She was the last surviving child of fifteen children of Henry and Julia (Ballas) Bendel. She was born on February 19, 1933, in what was then Jefferson Township, Pennsylvania.
Peg was always active at her church, James Chapel (Stone Church) in Washington County, PA. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and served as a Sunday School Teacher; she sang in the choir and joined her friends in running the Church’s Fall Festivals. She was President of the Thomas Jefferson Wrestling Booster Club and was the official scorekeeper alongside her husband Raymond “Harry” Clark, who coached softball for many years.
Peg did everything for everybody, but her greatest loves were her family.
In addition to her parents and all her siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Harry Clark, who passed away on November 7, 2004. Peg is survived by her two children, Wayne (Amy) Clark of Venice, Florida, and Doris (Roy) Johnston of West Newton; four grandchildren, Matthew (Emily) Johnston, Ashley Johnston, Josh (Sarah) Clark and Michael (Samantha) Clark; eleven great grandchildren; one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM in the Stephen D. Peg’s funeral service will be in the funeral home on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 11 AM with the Reverend Jude Urso officiating. She will be buried next to her husband in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
