Margaret “Margo” Poziviak
Margaret Poziviak, age 94, formerly of Elrama (Union Township, Washington County) Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015. She was born September 18, 1920 in Large (now Jefferson Hills, Allegheny County) Pennsylvania, one of six children to Charles Patrick Newmeyer and Carrie (Potts) Newmeyer. Margaret was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church on Collins Avenue in the Floreffe / Elrama area, the Elrama Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, “The” Card Club and an avid Duck Pin bowler, Polka dancer, Bingo player and Pirates fan.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Poziviak, one son, Ronald “Monk” Poziviak and all of her five brothers and sisters. Margaret is survived by her twin sons, Dennis (Alice) and Paul (Nancy) Poziviak; three grandchildren, Dane Hone, Erik and Jacob Tannehill; six great-grandchildren, Arek and Dylon Allen, Emma Hone, Connor, Hannah and Martin Tannehill and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills from 1 – 6 PM on Sunday, July 5th and 10 AM until the time of a Blessing Service at 11:30 AM on Monday, July 6th. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
