Magdalene “Madgie” Berchok, age 83, of Jefferson Hills, formerly of Clairton, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Jefferson Hills.
She was born Magdalene Anne Berchok
January 3, 1927
in Clairton a daughter of Michael Andrew Berchok and Helen (Gomolak) Berchok.
Madgie was a secretary
for US Steel in the Clairton Works for over 35 years and was a former volunteer for Clairton Meals on Wheels, a member of the Clairton and Wilson AARP, a member of GCU and the Greek Catholic Combined Choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother in law, George Tankosic.
She is survived by
2 sisters, Helen Tankosic and Joan Berchok, both of Jefferson Hills;
1 brother, Michael (Barbara) Berchok of Pleasant Hills;
3 nephews, George (
Lynn
) Tankosic, Tim (Flavia) Tankosic, Bryan (John Ferraro) Berchok;
1 niece, Cathy (Gus) Tankosic-Stuart and great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 6 - 8 PM on Monday, September 20, 2010 & 1 - 3 & 6 - 8 PM on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home

Parastas will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30 PM
Panachyda will be in the funeral home at 9 AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 followed by a Funeral of Devine Liturgy at 10 AM in Ascension of our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church with Reverend Ivan Mina officiating.
Interment will be in

Cemetery
in Clairton.
