LESTER "HERB" WRIGHT
Lester "Herb" Wright, age 80, of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, formerly of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, died Monday, May 4, 2015. He was born, Lester Thomas Wright, on December 4, 1934 in Homeville, Pennsylavnia one of three children of George Wilbur Wright and Violet Caroline (Wain) Wright. Herb was a veteran of the U.S. Army, post Korean War Era; retired from the Pleasant Hills Public Works Department; a life member of the Gill Hall Fire Co and he loved fishing and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two siblings, a sister, Doris Diefenderfer and a brother, Donald Wright. Herb is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy Louise (Churma) Wright; two sons, Thomas (Janny) Wright and James (Beverly) Wright; four grandchildren, Jason, Lyndsey, Brittany and Savanna; 1 great grandson, Cody and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM Thursday and Friday in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 (Large) in Jefferson Hills. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 AM with Pastor Ben Robinson of the Wilson Presbyterian Church in the Wilson section of Clairton, Pennsylvania officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
