Kathy Ackerman

Kathy Ackerman, age 76 formerly of Jefferson Hills, currently of Rostraver Township, Pennsylvania passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 22, 2023.  She was born on January 19, 1947, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, one of two children of James Patrick Winn and Kathryn Mildred (Stiffy) Winn. 

Kathy owned her own Hair Salon in Jefferson Hills, styling hair for customers and friends for over 50 years.  She loved baking, cooking, playing the Organ and volunteering at her church’s youth programs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ray Ackerman; two daughters, Janet (Robert) Bandi of South Park, Pennsylvania and Amy (Ed) Copus of Peters Township, Pennsylvania; four grandsons, Cody, Darrien, Ryan and Steven and her brother, David Winn of Fort Pierce, Florida.

Family and friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 4 – 6 pm.  Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday immediately following the visitation.

Kathy was a devout Christian who knows that she is now with her mom, Kassy, in Heaven.
