She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duquesne University and a Master’s degree in Spanish from the University of Pittsburgh.

Julie “BeBe” Krizan was the matriarch of her large extended Italian family. She was her family's historian and the “touch stone” keeping the relatives together and traditions alive. She was a legendary cook and renowned hostess. Julie was a lifelong learner and educator, She was a longtime Spanish teacher at Brentwood High School, known to her students as Senora Krizan. She took great pride in her teaching and had a passion for languages.

Julie and Ed were avid travelers. Europe was their favorite destination, where she could put her language skills to use. Julie’s greatest pride were her five grandchildren. She and Ed were active in their lives and never missed birthdays, graduations, or special events.

There was no bigger sports fan than Julie, following the Steelers, Pirates, and her beloved UConn girls’ basketball. She always had a plan and there was never enough time in the day to get it all done. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and had a passion for history. She had a strong faith and was an active member of her church, St. Thomas A’ Becket Catholic Church, serving as a CCD teacher and volunteer.
