Joseph Richard Kettish, age 85 of Annapolis, Maryland, died on Monday, May 19, 2025, at MedStar Harbor hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Mr. Kettish enjoyed 35 years of employment with the U.S. Government in McLean, Virginia while traveling the world. He was a Navy Veteran of the Peace Time era between the Korean and Vietnam wars, an avid soccer fan and doting grandfather to his 6 grandchildren.
He is survived by his sister Colleen Shaffer of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania and was preceded in death by his father Joseph Kettish, his mother Mary Kettish, both of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania and his younger brother, Larry Kettish, of Marriottsville, Maryland.
He was a loving father to Joseph Tige Kettish and his wife Anju Gupta Kettish of Annapolis, Maryland and to Richard Bram Kettish and his wife Melissa Rae Kettish of Dunedin, New Zealand. He was grandfather to Joseph Rohan Kettish and Dhiren Michael Kettish of Annapolis, Maryland and to Jacob Theo, Scarlett Lily, Noah James, and Heath Bram Kettish of Dunedin, New Zealand.
Family and friends will be received in the Stephen D Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania (412-384-0350) www.stephendslater.com from 4 -7 pm on Friday, May 30, 2025. His Parastas will be held at 6 pm in the funeral home.
On Saturday, May 31, 2025, Panachyda will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 am with the Funeral Liturgy for Joseph at 11 am in Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church in Clairton, Pennsylvania. His burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Ascension Cemetery on Worthington Avenue in Clairton. Father Christopher Burke will officiate the liturgy and burial.
