Joseph Black

Joseph Black age 56, of Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of Clairton, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 15, 2019 from his long time battle with cancer.  He is now disease free in the presence of Jesus.

Joe was a loving husband of Jen Adoc-Black, father of Steph Polenz and his son - in - love Bradley Polenz, and Clyde Adoc, grandfather of Thea Adoc and Esther Polenz, son of Annamae and the late John Black, brother of Fred and Jay Black, Jaci McCullough and the late Audrey Welsh.

He was passionate about his relationship with God, his family and sports.  He was the biggest Pittsburgh sports fan alive.  Anyone who knew him knew that he loved fearlessly and recklessly.  He showed the love of God in everything he did to everyone he came in contact with.

This world truly lost a great man.  What earth lacks, heaven has gained.

His life verse is Hebrews 12:1-2

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.  We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne."

Friends will be received to celebrate Joe's life on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 5 - 9 pm at Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home.
