John E Lynch

November 25, 1928 — February 28, 2024

Finleyville

     John E. Lynch, age 95 of Finleyville, Pennsylvania, left this earth to go to his heavenly home with his Savior, Jesus, February 28, 2024. He entered this world November 25, 1928, the only child of John Vernon Lynch and Roseanne (Myers) Lynch of Scottdale, Pennsylvania.

     He is loved dearly and survived by his wife, Eleanor “Ellie” (Grimes) Lynch; daughter, Cyndi (Dave) Lynch; stepdaughter, Judy (Joe) Longo; stepdaughter-in-law, Dotty (the late Ken) Krasneski; grandchildren, Renee (Phil) Stinelli, Bryan (Marie) Krasneski, Matthew (Jill) Longo, Melissa (Garrett) Dick and Lauree (Jason) Janov; great grandchildren, Josh, Abby, Nathan, Ana, Colton, Harper, Brayden and Everley. He is also survived by special family friends, Kate Sullivan and Lee (Sarah) Wyzkoski; caring neighbors, Kelly and Bob Jasko and a faithful servant, Don Borges.

     John was preceded in death by his son, Donald and his wife, Trish, Lynch, stepson Ken Krasneski and step grandson, Dustin Krasneski.

     John grew up in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania and graduated from Vandergrift High School,  class of 1946. He proudly served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II and worked in security at the Westinghouse Cheswick Plant for many years. After retirement he was a pastor for 10 years at the First Brethren Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He thoroughly enjoyed ministering together with his wife, Ellie, conducting Bible studies at nursing homes along with hospital and shut-in visitation through South Hills Assembly of God. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, and watching and feeding birds. In his later years he spent all of his time writing a book and was working on two others. He was happy and content with Savior God by his side.

     A private Celebration of Life will be held by John’s family. He will be buried with his parents in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Scottdale, Pennsylvania.
