JACKIE  MIKOLAJ

Jacqueline “Jackie” Mikolaj age 92 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, formerly of Brookline in Pittsburgh, died on Friday, January 3, 2020.   Jackie was born on September 13, 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas one of three children of Haskell and Marguerite (Stenger) Hawkins.  She was an Art teacher in the West Jefferson Hills School District, rotating her teaching among the Elementary, Middle and High Schools.  She was also a member of a quilting society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edward Mikolaj; her daughter Marlene Mikolaj and both of her sisters, Laura Lynch and Reba Newby.  Jackie is survived by her three sons, David Mikolaj and Mark (Ginny) Mikolaj, both of Jefferson Hills and George (Joellen) Mikolaj of Seville, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas,  Melanie, Paul, Adam, Benjamin, Zachary, Ian and Connor and five great grandchildren, Ellie, Norah, Owen, Leia and Matilda “Tillie”.

Friends will be received in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home 1701 Route 51 Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania 15025 (412-384-0350) on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm.  Her funeral will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 11 am.  Jackie will be buried in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania between her husband and her daughter.
